Movie Review: DUNKIRK Is A Must See!!!

Movie Review: DUNKIRK Is A Must See!!!

Dunkirk is definitely one the greatest war movies of our life time; this movie is intense and thrilling from start to finish.  It is amazing to see what Christopher Nolan accomplished in just over 100 minutes of film.

If you are a fan of Christopher Nolan, then this is the film for you.  Dunkirk puts together the perfect score to keep you on the edge of your seat with dialogues kept to a minimum.

Dunkirk puts you back into the early stages of World War II during the Battle of France.  The German soldiers have around 400,000 allied soldiers surrounded on the beach of Dunkirk.  This movie shows you the courage it took for normal civilians to risk their lives in the evacuation.  Had this evacuation of British, French, Belgian and Canadian soldiers not been successful the world as we know would be much different.  There is a chance the US would not have had an opportunity to engage the Germans if the evacuation at Dunkirk had failed.

We are shown the evacuation at Dunkirk in three distinct aspects:  On the land from the Army’s point of view, the Air from the Air Force’s point of view, and the Sea from the point of view as seen by the British Navy and the brave civilians who risked their lives to save over 300,000 men.

Needless to say the casting was on point.  Tom Hardy made his presence felt as a true movie hero.  Might I add it helped me see him as a strong candidate to take over as James Bond when Daniel Craig decides to walk away.  We also see Cillian Murphy cast in this film as an casting favorite of Nolan’s and even for female delight Harry Styles in a pivotal role.

I watched this movie at a regular theater but I am dying to see it again in an IMAX theater. I will say I took my father who was skeptical about watching this and he left wanting to see it again. I strongly suggest you take a couple of hours and watch a piece of history that was never told before.
