JUNE 6

Bambi - Disney's classic arrives on Blu-Ray. I have not seen this since I was a kid, but I think it's time to introduce the film to my children.

Beauty and the Beast - This live-action remake is thus far the highest grossing film of the year, so clearly people enjoy it. I thought the film was OK, but I prefer the original. I think the director focused too much on trying to capture all the beats from the first film, so the movie felt perfunctory instead of alive. I prefer the Jungle Book remake.

JUNE 13

The Lego Batman Movie - This film was a lot of fun, and is essential viewing for both Batman fans as well as Lego aficionados. There is so much obscure Batman trivia stuffed into this film that it can be watched many times and you will still find things you didn't notice before. I strongly recommend this flick!

John Wick: Chapter 2 - Anybody that loves action movies will love the John Wick series. This movie is non-stop action and the film further expands the intriguing mythos that was established in its first installment. Anybody that's seen the film will forever remember the line, "With a pencil!" - This film is not to be missed.

JUNE 20

Life - This film lasted at the theaters for a very short time, which is a shame, because the film was an entertaining sci-fi flick. Its plot is similar to Alien , but it makes enough changes to the formula to be worthwhile. I see this film turning into a cult classic in the years to come.

Joe Versus the Volcano - This isn't my favorite Tom Hanks movie, but I know it has its fans. Now you can own the very first Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan collaboration on Blu-Ray.

JUNE 27

T2 Trainspotting - The first Trainspotting is an excellent film with a killer soundtrack. I missed T2 at the theater, but I hear it's just as good as the first.

Autopsy of Jane Doe - I was fortunate enough to see this gem at Fantastic Fest last September, and it is a must-see film. Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox play father and son coroners tasked with performing an autopsy on a mysterious Jane Doe. As the night progresses, the duo soon realize that their Jane Doe is full of horrific surprises. If you love horror movies, then check this out!
